Women’s History Month

March has been women’s history month, and I decided to post a couple pictures of books on Instagram featuring women authors, especially the old school, now classic, writers.  They wrote in a time that was much harder for women to be recognized as skilled in writing. Their stories weren’t considered very important.

Austen and Alcott
Beatrix Potter
Laura Ingalls Wilder(+Rose Wilder who helped her mother write the stories)

We have pieces of American history left behind by Alcott and Wilder, and English society left by Austen. We see the charming artwork of Potter in her iconic children’s stories.

There are so many other women that influenced literature. They didn’t even know how far their words would reach or how they would become timeless.
